Tam Merkens
Life enthusiast, obsessed mother, dedicated wife and lover of all things horsey.
Tam started her professional career as a social worker, working in mental health, brain injury and palliative care. Soon realized the overwhelming value of supporting people in natural environments and traded her broom closet office for the beautiful Merkens Family Farm.
Now a Cartier Certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator. Tam has spent the last 5 years delivering programs that connect all ages and abilities to the human and horse connection.
Jason Merkens
Affectionately known as Mr. Humble Hooves, Jason is an awesome father, insanely supportive husband, and major Star Wars nerd.
He is the Humble Hooves ranch hand who spends most of his days caring for the farm and feeding the herd. Jason recently joined the family horse business and also certified as a Cartier Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator. He is known for adding fun and humor into sessions.
When Jason is not working on the farm he is operating a crane around Vancouver Island.
